Installation activities include pipeline connections, PLEM, risers, hoses, SPMs and loading terminals, mooring systems, anodes, and so on. Our technical department supports the client during the engineering phase in order to define the most performing method.

Pipeline connections are mainly carried out during the construction phase of an offshore field. Commonly used subsea pipeline connections or “tie-ins” include:

  • Tie-in of a pipeline to a platform riser

  • Tie-ins between pipelines

  • Hot taps (connecting new line to existing/in-service pipelines)

  • Repair of a damaged pipeline

  • Replacing flexible hoses on Single Point Moorings (SPMs)

The methods most commonly used by RANA for pipeline connections include:

  • flanged connections

  • hydraulic connections
